We Listen! Actions Taken in Response to
Parent Surveys — Part 2
By Donna Einspahr, TLC Director
As I mentioned in the August newsletter, I will be responding to some of the suggestions and comments made. We do listen.
- Christmas and Easter programs:
This year, we will split the Knights with the Eagles from the pre-school/toddler children. Yes, we know that it is crowded in the sanctuary and it is difficult to see your child. This is a blessing! In addition, we will start the services an hour earlier — at 6:00pm — to accomodate those children with early bedtimes. The dates are still to be determined with the Church's activity calendar. Watch for the dates in upcoming newsletters and flyers.
- "What do you teach at Jesus Time and Chapel?"
We will give you a handout at Back to School Night that will tell you what we teach during these times. We will also add this info to our website. That said, the best way to find out is to come and see for yourself! You are invited to attend our Chapel Time on Wednesdays at 9:40am (toddlers, pre-school & Knights) and 4:00pm for Eagles. In addition, I'm excited to let you know that we are going to host a "Family Night" where we will have Chapel in the evening with the family, and we will show you our Jesus Time and activities, too. Watch for more information — it's sure to be a fun evening!
- Many of you ask your children "What did you do at Trinity today?" Some children go in great details, while others aren't so sure and respond simply with "PLAY".
Yes, we play a lot — yet we are learning through play. With that in mind, we are going to host an evening of Center Fun, where the parents will have hands-on experience with what their child does at Trinity. We hope you will plan to come and have some fun!
- P.V.L. —Parent Volunteer League
Lastly, we are excited to announce we are starting our first-ever parent group. This group will lead our parent volunteers with projects and activities to enhance and support our program. Watch for sign-ups at our Back to School Night. We wil then set our first meeting date to determine the goal and function of this group. Again, this is in response to our parent survey. This will be a great way to get to know other parents, while supporting your child's school.
