Meet Our Staff
Come meet the happy faces of Trinity Lutheran Child Care. We take pride in a staff that works together as a team to bring the best possible care and cumulative experience for the children in our care. All of our staff is carefully screened (as required by state licensing); everyone is fingerprinted and goes through an FBI check. Each staff member also receives a TB skin test. In addition, everyone must have an early childhood certificate and/or degree, or be working towards one.

Ms. Linda Schultz, Program Coordinator
I was born in Hayward, California. I moved to the area in 1968 after I graduated from high school. My favorite thing to do is play with the kids. I believe that children learn through play. I have been in the childcare business for over 30 years and as of 2010 25 of those years are at Trinity. My other favorite things to do are exploring the country, camping, gardening and reading.
My mom lives in Yerington and 3 of my 4 brothers live in Gardnerville. My oldest brother lives in Minnesota. I have two boys, which I am very proud of. Wes is my oldest and lives in San Diego. He is a graphic artist and just got through making Transformer 3 and The Smurf movie into a 3D movie. He is also the father of my only grand daughter. I love being a grandma. My youngest son, Adam lives at home. He is the head pit crewman for a drag racing team and gets to travel all over the US. My outlook on life is to never forget the child in you and to stop and take a look (and take care of) the world God created for us.

Miss Julie, Monkey Teacher (18 months to 2 year olds)
Hi my name is Miss Julie, and I work with the 18 months to 2 year olds at TLC. I love all the learning and fun I have with these little ones.
I have been doing child care for more then 17 years (off and on). I have been married to Jeff my wonderful husband for more then 18 years and was fortunate enough to take some time off after having my 2 children (Robert who is 13, and Taylor who is 11).
I am a graduate of Douglas High School and am now attending the apprenticship program to earn my early child education certificate. I love working with children - it's the most rewarding job anyone could ask for, especially to teach here at TLC, where we can also teach the children about Jesus.
Please come on by and check out the Piglet room any time.

We have 4 very active children and their ages range from 5-15.
I was a Douglas County Elementary Teacher for 8 years, teaching grades 1st-3rd, but took some time off to spend more time with my family and teach at a Community Bible Study with 6-8 year olds.

Jessica England - Snail Teacher
Hi, my name is Jessica England. I have just started working as a substitute at TLC in the Fall of 2011, and so far I love it! It is a wonderful place with a great staff and a positive and nurturing environment.
I have a lot of experience with children. I have worked in child care for many years. I also enjoy tutoring elementary students in my spare time. I have been attending WNC since 2009 to work towards my teaching degree. I hope to then work towards my major in Spanish as I believe bilingualism plays an important role in today's educational system.
I have always had a special place in my heart for children and been passionate about not just teaching them, but also connecting with them. I love incorporating the joys of nature and animals, and teaching the importance of imagination.
I have lived in the Carson Valley since 1999 and hope to stay for a while and continue to connect with the kids at TLC.

VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers strengthen our program at TLCCC in several ways ...
- Volunteers provide children with an increased sense of security and confidence as they provide a greater opportunity for individual attention. This also allows the opportunity to make the most of teachable moments, thus enhancing each child's learning potential.
- Volunteers provide teachers with greatly appreciated help and allow for more involved time and consuming projects to be conducted and carried out with ease.
- Volunteers provide additional supervision for special field trips.
Volunteers in the classroom will be participating in classroom activities such as reading, art activities, etc. A teacher must be present at all times with a volunteer. Volunteers are also not permitted to help with toileting or diaper changing.
If you or someone you know is interested in being a volunteer, please contact the Director.
